* Nice masthead engraving
A volume 1 issue of this very famous title letter to be called the 'Columbian Centinel'. This first year was of smaller size and the earliest issues have the great engraving in the masthead (see).
Page 2 has a curious item: "A wager has been laid...that goods will be imported from Europe in air balloons within the course of three years...", given the recent notoriety of Blanchard & his balloon experiments.
Four pages, 8 by 10 inches, nice condition.
