October 30, 1889
NEW YORK TRIBUBNE, October 30, 1889

* Family feud much like or related to the Hatfields and McCoys... or something more?
* Gruesome killings

See photo for coverage on the family feud between the Brumfield and Dingess families. This is a report of the lynching of Green McCoy and Milt Haley, the former a cousin of the famous McCoy family.

Note: This is the historic (and horrific) event known as The Brumfield-McCoy-Haley Affair, which is discussed in detail via The Smithsonian Institute:  A Tale of Fatal Feuds and Futile Forensics. History shows this may have been much more mysterious/significant than a simple feud between families.  The Smithsonian opened up an anthropological dig in 2000 to look for clues as to the true nature of the event.

The front page has a small one column heading: "Deeds Of Violence In West Virginia"

This paper contains other news of the day. It is complete in 10 pages, has light browning and very minor margin wear, but is otherwise in good condition. It should be handled with care.
