The back page has a lengthy report headed: "The Turf" "The Jerome Park Summer Race Meeting--Large Fields and Splendid Racing--Luxenburg Wins the Dash Race" "Ruthless Wins the Belmont Stakes..." with more (see). This is a report of the very first Belmont Stakes race, held the day prior on June 19. This race is the final of the Triple Crown races. Significant to have this report in the Times as the race was held in the Bronx.
