THE GUARDIAN OF FREEDOM, Frankfort, Kentucky, Oct. 20, 1802
* Very rare & early KY title
This is one of the earliest title from Kentucky we have had the pleasure to offer, and very rare. It published intermittently from 1798-1805. Only 2 issues of this date are held by any American institutions.
Among the various articles within are: "On Taxes, and Sale of Lands" which takes nearly half a page; a letter to the Vice President, with his response signed in type: A. Burr; reports from Hartford, New York, & Washington, & other tidbits. Many advertisements as well.
Four pages, A tape mend to a lower corner of the back page affecting an advertisement, rejoined at the spine, otherwise in very nice condition.
