October 26, 1775
THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Oct. 26, 1775  Page 2 has a letter from Ticonderoga concerning military events in Canada, including: "...there are at that place 470 Regulars & 110 at Chambee...about 20 at Montreal & one company at Quebec; 40 Indians at St. John..." and a bit more (see). Another page has a nearly full column letter signed: "A Loyalist" (see)
Inside has: "...we hear there has been a skirmish near St. John's between a...party of our men in a boat & a boast of Regulars, Canadians, & Indians...number of the whites & two Indians of the enemy where slain; that Gen. Montgomery, with 1200 men, set off...for St. John's..." with more (see).
The back page includes a little biography of George Washington & includes some comments on his mother having been an Alderman (see). The back page also has a brief item: "...General Gage, we hear, has seized the donation stores in Boston & placed a strong guard over them."
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
