THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, June 19, 1781 Page 2 has nearly half a column headed: "America" with several reports, one noting in part: "...made his escape from the rebels & brought in with him to Georgetown 25 men. This event is the more fortunate as he had been unjustifiably seized in breach of a flag of truce by Marion..." with more (see photos). Further inside is: "...arrived from Carolina which sailed from Charlestown...brings an account that 60 of Morgan's men had come in a body & made their submission to Lord Rawdon. We are sorry to acquaint the public that the brave Colonel Tarleton has lost part of his right hand, yet we add, with pleasure that in every other respect he is in health & spirits." (see photos). Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/4 inches, very nice condition.
