May 30, 1941
THE STAR, Island of Guernsey, May 30, 1941

* Rare pro-Nazi occupation title
* Bismarck (German battleship) sunk

A very curious issue, as Guernsey, an English-speaking island, was occupied by the Germans during WWII so all the news was pro-Nazi. Among the ftpg. reports is a curiously small one with a one column head: "The Bismarck Sunk" (allied papers had it as a banner headline), the report reading very defensive & including: "...In a fight against forces which were being continually reinforced, the 'Bismarck', which had become unmanageable by May 27, became the victim of the superior strength of the three British battleships..." (see). Great to have this report of the sinking of the price of the Nazi navy in a pro-Nazi newspaper.
Four pages, very nice condition.
