THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Dec. 11, 1781  Most of the front page is a letter "To the People of Great Britain" which includes much talk concerning the war with America. Near the back is: "American Intelligence" with a report from Philadelphia which notes that news from Georgia states that: "...the inhabitants had assembled in the town of Augusta & the regular form of government having been re-established there, they chose the Hon. Nathan Brownson for their governor..." followed by a Proclamation by the governor (see). A few other small mentions of America as well. The bkpg. has an item noting: "The arrival of Lord Cornwallis & the field officers of his unfortunate army is hourly expected...The American war, it is said, will be pursued on our part with the utmost vigour & to facilitate this system, it is reported overtures have been sent to Russia for 40,000 troops & a naval reinforcement..." with more.
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, rubbing to the right half of the front page only with some soiling here as well, otherwise in nice condition.
