THE NEW YORK TIMES, New York, August 9, 1865 The front page reports "Sports of the Turf - The Second Day of the Saratoga Meeting - The Coveted Bauble Won by the Horse Kentucky" which also includes a summary of the race. Page 3 has: "Death of an Ex-Slave at the Almshouse - His Will" which includes the will of Denison where he leaves all his worldly belongings to the person that had been attending to him. Page 4 has "The Anti-Slavery Agitation - Its Relation to the Result" which is and editorial on a recent speech by Gerritt Smith.
