August 19, 1865
NEW-YORK TIMES, New York, August 19, 1865  The frontpage of this issue features a variety of reports including "The Lost Cable Again" referencing a lengthy report on the Atlantic cable; "The Pirate Shenandoah - Destruction of a Whaling Bark"; and the reporting of contract for Ford's Theatre being made fire-proof, a depository for the rebel archives.  Page 2 has: "Notes From The People" "Life Among The Shakers". Page 5 has "The Ketchum Defalcations" with the real estate thus seized being estimated at over a half a million dollars. The backpage has: "Out-Door Sports" "An Exciting Base Ball Match at Newark--The Champion Atlantics Nearly Defeated--A Large Concourse of Spectators". Nice summary which mentions "six or seven thousand spectators", plus the box score.

This is complete in 8 pages with scattered lite foxing, otherwise is in very good condition.
