THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Nov. 17, 1781  Over a full column on the ftpg. has: "Farther Particulars of  the Important News from America" which includes: "...The French fleet had got as far up the Chesapeake as York River...to prevent the British transports with troops & stores getting up for the relief of Lord Cornwallis...the French had likewise fortified the high land at the entrance of the above river...The French & Rebels had advanced within 600 yards of Lord Cornwallis's lines at Gloucester on the 9th...they kept so severe a bombardment as to kill 100 of his men...on the 10th their fire slackened but on the 11th it was renewed again with vigour..." with much more. Some nice content on the final days before Cornwallis' surrender on the 19th of October.
Similar content inside with: "...the French & Americans have broken up all the roads & thrown up every possible impediment that industry could produce to prevent Lord Cornwallis from making a sally..." (see photos).
Eight pages, 9 by 12 inches, never bound nor trimmed (desired), great condition.
