Jackson" "The first Funeral Procession in honor of the memory of Ex-President Jackson took place at New York on Tuesday.We learn from the newspapers of that city that, although the day was intensively hot, the streets were thronged with a immense concourse of people, including many strangers that the numbers and extent of the procession were unusually large; that the ceremonies were highly appropriate and imposing; and that no serious accident occurred to interfere with the proceedings of the day..." The article is a full column in length. An other lengthy article is "Honors to the Memory of Gen. Jackson" includes an order by the President to close the public offices and business be suspended on Friday, the 27th. Other information on the program for his memory is included in the article as well. "Town Meeting in Georgetown, D.C." also contains a letter pertaining to their regret on the news of Gen.
