THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, England, January, 1731 (fourth edition). This is the very first issue of this famous publication, and the very first to use the word "magazine" in the title. Note that this is the second edition but still printed in 1731, as printed on the title/index page. First editions of this issue are extremely rare. In fact most issues of this date we come by are 4th thru 7th editions, this being the 4th edition.
Nice to have the very first issue of this early magazine. It contains a wide variety of content including literary items, political affairs, news reports & various essays.
Complete in 42 pages, measures 5 by 8 inches, a bit irregular at the spine were disbound, generally in nice condition.
