December 13, 1941
THE WHITE FALCON, Reykjavik, Iceland, Dec. 13, 1941

* Very rare military title from Iceland
* Bombing of Pearl Harbor
* World War II begins for U.S.

As noted under the masthead: 'Published For American Forces In Iceland". A quite rare military paper done weekly, so this is the first since the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Much on this event as might be imagined, with pages 4 & 5 including: "WAR EVENTS" beginning with: "Japanese planes attacked Pear Harbor. President issued defense order 46 against Japan. CBS reports Pearl Harbor and Manila have been attacked by Japanese Bombers...." with more dispatches (see for portions).
Page 7 contains the complete text of: "The President's War Message" which begins with the now-famous line: "Yesterday December 7th 1941--a date which will live in infamy--the United States of America was suddenly & deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the empire of Japan..." with more. This is followed by the: "War Declaration on Japan".
The front page has: "U.S. Lashes At Axis" which includes comic illustrations of both Hitler and Mussolini (see).
Complete in 8 pages, measures 11 by 16 inches, minor fold wear, nice condition.
