THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Feb. 11, 1775

* Protecting the colonies discussion
* Pre Revolutionary War tensions

Most of the ftpg. is taken up with: "The Speech of the Lord Mayor on the Motion of Lord North fo an Address to his Majesty against the Americans" and begins with an extremely prophetic statement: "The business now before the House respecting America is of as great importance as was ever debated in parliament...". This is an extremely significant report with much great reading (see for portions), bits including: "...it will be said is America then to enjoy the protection of Great Britain & to contribute nothing towards the support of that very state...The Americans themselves have given the fullest answer to this objection...they have demonstrated their love, their ardor, their strong filial piety towards the mother country..." and further on: "...The Americans, sir, have of late both within doors & without been treated with the greatest injustice & even a wanton degree of cruelty..." and much more, continuing to take half of page 2.
Also on page two under: "America" is a report of: "...the association drawn up by Brig. General Ruggles & entered into by the loyalists of Mass. Bay for their mutual defence against the opposers of lawful government." which includes their six point agreement (see).There is more America-related content on the back page as well.
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
