Page 2 has the letter from the: "...President of the United States...approved & signed the act authorizing the defence of merchant vessels against French depredations..." with the letter signed in type: John Adams. All of the front page & half of page 2 are taken up with continued reports on: "The Envoys to Citizen Talleyrand". Page 3 has: "American Independence!" with a long list of various toasts to the anniversary of the country (see for portions). There is also a notice headed: "Appointments" which states: "George Washington, of Virginia, Lieutenant General and Commander in Chief of the armies of the United States of America." (see).
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed with wide margins, an ink spot on the back leaf, great condition.
