The front page illustration is of Santa Claus by Thomas Nast captioned "Santa Claus's Mail". In the illustration Santa is busy reading letters separated into two stacks, the largest being Letters From Naughty Childrens Parents while the smaller stack has Letters From Good Childrens Parents.
