* Prelude to the Revolutionary War
* Trade tensions w/ American Colonies
Some smudging to portions of the front page but causing no loss of readability, otherwise very nice & complete in 8 pages. Pg. 2 has a bit reading in part: "...merchants trading to Boston made an application...praying to be heard before the bill, now in agitation, passes into a law...intention of this address is not to vindicate the Boston people...merchants trading to Boston both know & regret the rebellious outrages committed in that town & are clearly of opinion that England must now assert her supremacy...".
Another page reflects on this history of the people in the colonies & which includes: "...the New Englanders plead an exemption from taxation as if they were not subjects..." with more (see photos).
The back page is has items from the House of Commons which includes some American concerns, including: "...there is a clause to prevent his Majesty from re-instating the trade of the port or town of Boston...the Custom House officers & stores shall immediately be removed from Boston...". (see)
Complete in 8 pages, measures 8 1/2 by 11 1/4 inches, partial red-ink tax stamp on page two, in very nice condition.
