Committee Votes to Ease Tourney Ban on Negro Players" and "Action to Help Admit Them to Co-Sponsored Events Effective at Once, Smith Says--Kroll's 206 Leads in San Diego Open".
This was the official report on allowing Negroes to participate in the PGA. The following tournament in Phoenix AZ allowed a African American by the name of Charlie Sifford to try to qualify for the PGA event.
