THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, July 7, 1774 An inside page has an: Extract of a Letter from a Gentleman at Savannah in Georgia dated April 20 to his Friend at New York which takes close to two columns, in which he discusses the troubled relationship with the Indians in the South, plus some other items as well. This is followed by a few news items including one bit noting: The city of Annapolis, in Maryland, have come to a resolution to stop there all importations from & exportations to, Great Britain till the Boston Port Act be repealed. This detailed report & related items take most of the page (see).
A small report from Virginia notes that the "...House of Burgesses have agreed to set apart the 1st of June to observe as a day of fast & humiliation on account of the commerce & harbour of Boston being to be stopt by a late act of the British Parliament on that day."
The bkpg. has a fascinating item from Maryland concerning a journal across the ocean and the: "...letter from a young man who foolishly sold himself to one of those dealers in the human species..." being a great first-hand account (see). A rare a great report!
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, nice condition.
