THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, July 5, 1774 A pg. 2 item from New Orleans notes: "...that Mr. Nastis's sloop from Rhode Island...was seized & condemned at that place...were sent to gaol for trading with the inhabitants..." with a bit more (see).
Another page has an interesting item from Farmington, Conn., noting: "...hand bill posted up in various parts of town...To pass through the fire...in honour of the immortal Goddess of Liberty, the late infamous act of the B___sh Parliament for further distressing the American Colonies. The place of execution will be the public parade where all Sons of Liberty are desired to attend...a huge pole...was erected & consecrated to the Shrine of Liberty. After which the Act of P____t for blocking up Boston harbour was read aloud, sentenced to the flames & executed by the hands of the common hangman..." (see).
The same page has several other reports concerning America and the: "...alarming situation..." existing there with relations with England (see photos). One report ends with a very brief reference to the Boston Tea Party of several months prior: "The value of the tea destroyed at Boston amounts to about 8000 l. sterling."
There is also a report beginning: "At a meeting of the merchants at Norfolk, in Virginia, on receiving the proposal from the Bostonians to resolve on a non-importation agreement till all the acts relating to Boston were repealed..." with more (see).
The back page has some reference to the Quebec Bill and the thoughts of some in the colonies of framing a constitution (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
