THE EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT, Scotland, September 8, 1726
* Very rare title from the early 18th century
* Nice masthead engravings
See the photo below for one of the more beautiful, displayable mastheads of the 18th century, featuring two woodblock engravings, one showing two postboys on horseback trumpeting the news, and the other showing a winged angel trumpeting the news.
Additionally, the first letter in the first column is within yet another very decorative engraving, all making the front page quite displayable.
This four page newspaper contains various news of the day. Close cutting along the bottom margin does affect some some letters on the front and back pages.
In very nice condition with a partial red-inked tax stamp on page 3. Measures about 7 3/4 by 9 1/2 inches.
