July 06, 1861
THE DAILY JOURNAL, Wilmington, North Carolina, July 6, 1861 This was one of only a small number of newspapers from the South which printed "Confederate States of America" in the dateline.
Page 2 has several reports on the Civil War, including: "The Fourth In Charleston" "A Few Words to the Young Men of Wilmington" "Latest By Way of Mobile" "From Fortress Monroe" "From the West" "Important From the Seat of War!" "Lincoln's Message" and a bit more.
Page 3 has some news and many ads including several "Recruiting" ads (see) and at least one reward ad for deserters from the military (see). The back page is entirely taken up with ads.
Four pages, nice condition save for minor spine wear.
