THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Aug. 19, 1780 Page 2 has a short notice relating to the Civil War (see). Another page has an opinion on America's alliance with France: "...America, that we planted with our subjects, cherished with our treasure, & defended with our blood from depredations of France & Spain, has raised her arm against us; and leaguing herself with her own natural enemies she has invited them to assist her in sheathing a sword in the bosom of her parent."
Yet another page has an item noting in part: "...It is said that General Washington acts on the defensive, therefore a good account was hourly expected to be given of him." And the back page includes: "...reported at Versailles that the troops from France landed at Boston, were to remain there only four days when they were to be joined b a large body of continental troops & march to the relief of General Washington...the governor of Boston sent off different expresses to Congress & General Washington with the news of the happy event..." & a bit more (see).
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed, there are wear holes in the upper right more so to the first few leaves than the back, none of which affects any mentioned items.
