A newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy. 

Among the front page items is: "Death of General Dimmock" and a report on: "The Fayette Artillery Ball" and an item: "Charge of Disloyalty" to the Confederate government (see photos). Several other war-related reports on the front page as well.

The back page has much reporting from: "The Virginia Legislature" plus items as on war as well, including reports headed: "The Chickamauga Battlefield" "What Grant Has To Do" "The Situation Before Chattanooga" "A Cork Leg for General Hood" and other items, plus ads.

Complete as a single sheet newspaper with a very wide right margin, various tears at the edges with some small pieces missing at the margins (see photos), mild wear at folds.
