SOUTH PACIFIC DAILY NEWS, June 7, 1944
* D-Day invasion of France
* Rare military title
This was one of many newspapers published by the soldiers at the various installations throughout the theaters of war during World War II. typically they were rather crudely done, of small size & printed in small quantities. This issue has a more professional look than most and has the top half of the ftpg. announcing:
* Invasion Allied Armies Land In North France
Almost the entire 14 pages deal with the invasion with some reflection upon the efforts already accomplished in the war.
Measures 8 by 13 inches, apparently done on a small mimeograph machine, red ink in the masthead, various drawings throughout. Once stapled at the top which has since been removed.
Generally nice condition with very mild margin wear. Terrific to have this signal event in a small "camp" newspaper.
