The top of the front page has a two column headline: "AWFUL DEEDS IN KRUSHEVO" with subhead. (see images) Surprisingly this issue is in good condition being from the "wood pulp" era. Very hard to find issues that are not totally fragile from this era in paper.
Complete with 6 pages, small library stamps within the masthead, nice condition.

AI notes: In August 1903, during the Ilinden–Preobrazhenie Uprising against Ottoman rule, the town of Kruševo in the Manastir Vilayet briefly became the center of a short-lived revolutionary government known as the Kruševo Republic. On August 3, insurgent forces captured the town and proclaimed a council representing various ethnic communities, including Slavic Macedonians, Aromanians (Vlachs), and others. The republic lasted only about ten days, as Ottoman forces launched a counterattack, culminating in the battles of Mečkin Kamen and Sliva, where many rebels, including leader Pitu Guli, were killed. When Ottoman troops retook Kruševo on August 12–13, they carried out widespread reprisals against the population, destroying homes, looting property, and targeting civilians perceived as supporters of the uprising. Contemporary and later accounts report that hundreds of residents were killed, many more were wounded or displaced, and significant portions of the town were burned, creating a legacy of violence that has been variously described as massacre, repression, or collateral destruction. The events remain historically and politically contested, reflecting both the brutality of the Ottoman response and the complex interethnic dynamics of the region.
