This issue is on the eve of the end of the Vietnam War, with a banner headline: "2 MARINES KILLED BY RED SHELLING" with related photo. Reporting and a few more related photos on pages 4, 5 & 6.

AI notes: On April 29, 1975, the United States launched Operation Frequent Wind, the largest helicopter evacuation in history, as North Vietnamese forces surrounded Saigon. With the airport under attack, U.S. helicopters evacuated over 7,000 Americans and South Vietnamese allies from the U.S. embassy and other sites. Chaos unfolded as thousands tried to flee, fearing the advancing communist forces. This day marked the final U.S. military presence in Vietnam and the imminent collapse of South Vietnam, which would officially fall the next day on April 30, 1975.
