* Russia declares war on Japan
* Hiroshima, Japan atomic bombing
Very late in the war, in fact less than a week before Japan surrendered, Russia declared war on Japan - noted here in a dramatic 3-line banner headline: "REDS AT WAR WITH JAPAN", with subheadings: "Drive Into Manchukuo, Bomb Key Points, Foe Reports" and "BARE JAP PEACE PLEA". However, perhaps the most interesting coverage is found on inside pages which includes multiple day-2 reports of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, which includes in part: "Hiroshima, Japan's seventh largest city, virtually was obliterated by a withering holocaust of fire and heat from the single atom bomb that crushed building like matchsticks...", and continues on yet another page with: "City Wiped Off Earth, 200,000 May Have Died". Additional related articles with corresponding photos are also present. See images for details.
Complete in 44 pages, a bit of wear and dampstaining, fair condition.
