Complete with 30 pages, rag edition in very nice condition. A few small binding holes along the spine.
AI notes: On June 5, 1939, the MS St. Louis, a ship carrying 937 Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi persecution, found itself near the Florida coast after being denied entry to Cuba. The United States also refused the refugees, citing strict immigration quotas and economic concerns, forcing the ship to return to Europe. There, the passengers were distributed among Britain, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Tragically, of the 907 who returned, 254 were later killed in the Holocaust. This event, often called the "Voyage of the Damned," starkly illustrates the international community's reluctance to provide refuge to Jews during World War II.
