AI notes: On January 29, 1939, legendary football coach Glenn "Pop" Warner resigned as head coach of Temple University after six seasons, citing declining team performance and health issues. Warner had led the Owls to national prominence, including an undefeated regular season in 1934 and a Sugar Bowl appearance. His final season ended with a disappointing 3–6–1 record. After stepping down, Warner returned to California, where he continued to contribute to football as an advisor at San Jose State College before his death in 1954.
