January 07, 1917
THE NEW YORK TIMES, Jan. 7, 1917

* Joseph Franklin Rutherford election (1st report)
* Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society leader
* Jehovah's Witnesses movement pioneer
* Charles Taze Russell
successor - Bible Student

Page 9 has a small and somewhat discrete report with one column heading: "Succeeds Pastor Russell" with subhead. (see image)
I suspect this to be a very rare item because there was really no reason to save it at the time.
Complete with 80+ pages, light toning along the margins and central fold, a little irregular along the spine, generally in good condition.

wikipedia notes: On January 6, 1917, Rutherford, aged 47, was elected president of the Watch Tower Society, unopposed, at the Pittsburgh convention. By-laws passed by both the Pittsburgh convention and the board of directors stated that the president would be the executive officer and general manager of the Society, giving him full charge of its affairs worldwide.
