NEW YORK TRIBUNE, April 13, 1865  Despite the great news from the closing days of the Civil War, no one could have believed what would happen the next day: the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
The front page column heads include: "MORE GOOD NEWS" "Capture Of Lynchburg" "Gen. Lee En Route to Richmond" "Selma and Montgomery, Ala., Also Taken" "Forrest & Roddy Prisoners" "GEN. SHERIDAN and more.
Eight pages, minor loss at the top not affecting text, nice condition.
