THE LONDON GAZETTE, England, Nov. 19, 1674 The front page begins with a report datelined at Venice, noting in part: "...The Viceroy of Naples, as well as that of Sicily, find it now time to use their utmost endeavors to being a speedy and considerable force together to give a stop to this growing mischief...Complaints have been made to the Port by the Armenian Jews, and other merchants, subjects to the Turk...".
