Page 7 has nearly half a column headed: "The Sufferings of the Colored People" which begins: "Men of all creeds & parties are unanimous that the most hideous feature of the late riot was the barbarous & unwarrantable outrage upon the heroes, but the magnitude of the public have not fully comprehended the magnitude of their dangers & sufferings...".
