Kissinger - 1st Jewish American Secretary of State... Jim Croce 's death...

Item # 703969 ·
THE NEWS AND OBSERVER, Raleigh, North Carolina, September 22, 1973

* Kissinger - 1st Jewish-American & 1st Naturalized Citizen to become U.S. Secretary of State
* Jim Croce dies in plane crash

The front page has a three-column heading: "Kissinger Confirmed In 78-7 Senate Vote", which tells of Henry Kissinger becoming the 1st Jewish-American and the first naturalized citizen to ever be confirmed as Secretary of State of the United States. Quite historic.  Coverage continues on page 2 with discussion of some of the dissenting votes.
Page 22 has a brief death notice of Jim Croce who died in a plane crash, which includes a photo and related caption.
Other news of the day, sports, and advertising are found throughout.
Complete in 36 pages, a few small binding holes along the left spine, generally very nice.
