Half of the front page is taken up with reports from: "Congress - House of Representatives" which includes talk on: "...the report of the Secretary of the Treasury. -- Mr. Madison's motion for a discrimination under consideration...", carrying over to take all of page 2.
Page 2 discussion includes: "...The amendment of the senate to the bill for enumerating the inhabitants of the United States, were read. The enumeration is to commence on the first of August next, and to be compleated within nine months..." with more.
Page 3 includes a letter: "To the President of the United States" concerning famine. Also on page 3 is an: "Extract of a letter from Benjamin West to Doctor Franklin, dated London, Oct. 8, 1789" which was brought over by the famed painter John Trumbull with some text on his situation.
Over one-third of the back page is the continued: "Report of the Secretary of the Treasury to the House of Representatives" (Alexander Hamilton).
Four pages, a few small rubbing holes, mostly good condition.

Considered by many as the most significant newspaper of the 18th century, particularly during this, one of the formative years of the new federal government, as this paper was the mouthpiece of all matters political. Most pronouncements from Congress & the President were printed first in this newspaper.
