Item # 702455

January 10, 1984

THE VILLAGE VOICE (weekly), Greenwich Village, New York, Jan. 10, 1984

* VAN HALEN rock band concert advertisement
* Performance at Madison Square Garden
* "1984" album Tour - best album for this group ?
* Eddie and Alex Van Halen - David Lee Roth

Pages 70 & 71 has a terrific double-page advertisement for "VAN HALEN 1984" for Madison Square Garden. (see images) Great for display. Also of interest is that this album was released on January 9th, one day prior to the date of this issue.
Page 64 has smaller ads for "Ozzy Osbourne w/ Motley Crue" and "Blue Oyster Cult" (see images)
I suspect this to be an extremely rare item because their was really no reason to save it at the time.

It is worth noting that "The Village Voice" was an American news and culture paper, known for being the country's first alternative newsweekly. Founded in 1955, the Voice began as a platform for the creative community of New York City.
Complete with 120 pages, tabloid-size, one crease across the center, small library stamp on the front page, very nice condition.

Provenance note: This issue comes from The Village Voice's own archives, part of their in-house collection used to create their digital archive. Rare as such.

Alert: Many issues of The Village Voice contain articles and/or photos which some consider offensive, and are certainly inappropriate for children. Please purchase with discretion.
