COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, May 23, 1792  The front page contains in full the historic Militia Act of 1792, which allowed the President to temporarily take control of state militias in times of crises. It is titled: "An ACT to Provide for Calling Forth the Militia to Execute the Laws of the Union, Suppress Insurrections and Repel Invasions" and is signed in script type by the President: Go. Washington.
Page 3 has various reports concerning the French Revolution including one letter signed in type by the King: Louis. Also a report: "Abolition of Slave Trade" concerning Wilberforce's efforts in the British Parliament.
Four pages, period marks at the margins of page 2, nice condition.
