Battle of Flers-Courcelette... 1st use of tanks...

Item # 699627

September 15, 1916

EVENING TRIBUNE, San Diego, Sept. 15, 1916

* Battle of Flers-Courcelette
* Somme offensive - France
* Known for 1st use of tanks
* World War I - WWI

The front page has a banner headline: "GERMANS THIRD LINE IS BROKEN" with subhead. (see images) Surprisingly this issue is in good condition being from the "wood pulp" era. Very hard to find issues that are not totally fragile from this era in paper. Rare as such.
Complete with 12 pages, 2 small library stamp within the masthead, a little irregular along the spine, generally very nice.
