THE NATIONAL REGISTER, Washington, Oct. 5, 1816 An uncommon title that existed from March 2, 1816 thru Dec. 7, 1820. As the photos show the format was very much like the more popular 'Niles Weekly Register' which began in 1811, but not remotely as successful.
Inside has an article: "Line of Forts From St. Louis To the Pacific Ocean" which takes nearly a full page with much information concerning the forts. A great military item on the western territories well before serious settlements.
Sixteen pages, 6 1/4 by 9 1/2 inches, scattered foxing, good condition.
