The front of the Calendar Section has: "Strum of its parts", which tells of the 2004 Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas. Included is a very graphic containing individual photos of guitar greats Joe Walsh, John Mayer, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, J.J. Cale, Jimmie Vaughn, and Vince Gill. The article continues on an inside page and includes a photo of Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton, both formerly of the Yardbirds, playing together on the same stage during the festival.
Page A18 has the brief article headed: "Man Charged in 1996 Abduction". This is in regard to Darrell David Rice, formerly accused of murdering Laura Winans and Julianne Williams along the Skyline Drive, being charged with the abduction (with intent to harm) a female along Route 29 in Virginia.
The front page has much regarding the funeral of former President Ronald Reagan.
Although there were not any notable movie premiers this week, the Calendar Section still contains several full-page and large ads for popular movies of the day, an abbreviated list which includes: The Scorpion King, Jason X, Changing Lanes, The Gathering Storm, Murder by Numbers, Ice Age, and more.
