THE POST-BOY, London, February 9, 1720  A nice single sheet newspaper with two decorative engravings in the masthead.
The front page includes a brief yet significant notice that: "This Day is publish'd, Sir Isaac Newton's Opticks; or, a Treatise of the Reflections, Refractions, Inflections, and Colours of Light", which remains a landmark work in the history of science.
Other news of the day including a mention of a ship: "...outward bound for Virginia, New-England, etc...both for Maryland...".
The back page has a full red-inked tax stamp. Minor loss to the top of the spine margin barely touches one of the engravings but no loss, however some letters are the back page are affected. Otherwise in great condition. Measures 8 1/4 by 14 1/4 inches.
