Item # 696235

December 09, 1980

(2-issue set) LIVERPOOL ECHO, England & NEW YORK POST, both dated December 9, 1980 (a two-issue set)

* John Lennon death - The Beatles front man
* From both his hometown and place of his murder
* Best publications to be had - a truly unique pair

Here is a terrific and a very rare opportunity to have two of the best issues on the murder of John Lennon.
First you get the LIVERPOOL ECHO and few could argue for a more desirable and scarce newspaper on the death of John Lennon than this, his hometown newspaper.
The front page has a large headline: "JOHN LENNON SHOT DEAD", plus 3 related front-page photos. Many more related reports & photos are found on the inside pages.
You also get the NEW YORK POST which is also one of the more desirable newspapers on the death of John Lennon - it being from the city where he was shot and killed.
This issue has a nice front-page headline: "JOHN LENNON SHOT DEAD", with subhead and photo. Much more inside including a double page pictorial. Nice for display. See photos for details.
To anyone who grew up in the 1960's the death of The Beatles' John Lennon was a tragic event and the end of an era. Reports of his death are desired by collectors of many interests and are more rare than assassination reports of J.F.K.
Each issue is complete with 14 & 64 pages respectively and are in very nice condition.
