This Calendar section has full and near-page ads for many of the movies nominated for the 2003 Academy Awards. Some of the ads include: "Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers", "Gangs of New York", "Chicago", "About Schmidt", "The Pianist", "Adaptation", "Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron", "Spirited Away", and a tri from Walt Disney Studios: "Lilo & Stitch", "Treasure Planet" and "Spirited Away". Additional ads are for the premiers and recent releases of" "God's and Generals", Old School", Shanghai Nights". "Dark Blue", and more.
Note: Where else might one find authentic, poster-size ads for Opening Day showings, in the most desirable Hollywood-area newspaper - as we were lucky enough to obtain this (and others) indirectly from the Los Angeles Times' own collection? It simply doesn't get any better! In over 40 years of collecting, we have yet to see such unique & dramatic coverage with truly top-shelf, eye-catching displayability (see images).
A quite rare issue as it would not have been saved since it contains no historically significant content.
Present is the Calendar Section, in very good condition.
