The top of the front page has a four column headline: "MOTHER CONFESSES KILLING GIRL AND SLASHING THROAT OF HER SON; SHE WAS IN LOVE, THEY IN WAY" with subheads and photo of her injured son. (see) First report coverage on the murder of 7 year old Helen Tiernan. It would soon be known that the killer was her own mother who wanted to get rid of her kids because of a love affair.
