August 17, 1861
Here is a clothing account form dated August 17, 1861. Printed on both sides. This is a full ledger sheet headed at the top:
* The United States: In Account with Charles Cooper, private, 190th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer on account of Clothing during his enlistment; the money value of each issue being hereby acknowledged.
The form is part printed & part handwritten. Included on the form are columns noting "Date of Issue" "Money Value" "Rank" "Signature" and "Witness", with a signature at the bottom.
The reverse of this form is similar, but for a John Smith, a private who enlisted on August 17, 1861.
A nice Civil War item with documentation on both sides.
Measures about 10 by 15 inches, irregular along the one margin, otherwise in nice condition
