Other reports inside include: "From the Northwest--The Enemy Defeated" which is notable on the siege of Fort Meigs & includes a detailed report signed in type by: Wm. Henry Harrison; "Descent On Plattsburgh" "From Lake Ontario" "From Lake Erie" "Declaration of War, by the Six Nations of Indians" and even more.
Four pages, 9 1/4 by 11 1/2 inches, a tiny piece from a back leaf corner affects part of one word on page 3,  nice condition.

AI notes: The Siege of Fort Meigs occurred in 1813, during the War of 1812. The fort, located in present-day Perrysburg, Ohio, was a key American stronghold on the Maumee River. British forces under General Henry Procter, along with a large contingent of Native American warriors led by Tecumseh, laid siege to the fort in an attempt to gain control over the Northwest Territory. American General William Henry Harrison commanded the defense. On May 5, a force of Kentucky militia under Colonel William Dudley launched an attack to break the siege, successfully spiking British cannons but then being overwhelmed and suffering heavy losses in what became known as “Dudley’s Defeat.” Despite this setback, the Americans held the fort, and the British and Native American forces eventually retreated, marking the siege as a strategic American victory that bolstered morale and helped secure the Northwest frontier.

This is a fascinating, short-lived newspaper, having begun in 1812 for the exclusive purpose of reporting on the War of 1812 (hence the title) with no advertisements. When the war ended, so did this newspaper.
