June 20, 1864

DAILY DISPATCH, Richmond, Virginia, June 20, 1864  Among the front page reports in this newspaper from the Confederate capital:"The War News--Heavy Fighting Near Petersburg--The Enemy Repulsed--Cheering Prospects on the Southside--Defeat of the Enemy at Lynchburg" and then: "Latest About the Situation in Georgia".
Included in the lengthy reporting on Petersburg is a letter signed in type by: R. E. Lee, General.
The back page is mostly taken up with ads & official notices but also includes: "A Sensible Conclusion" which is a great editorial; "Raymond on Gen. Lee" "From Gen. Morgan" and a bit more.
Complete as a single sheet issue, very nice condition.
