* Battle of Fredericksburg ending events

Among the front page column heads on the Civil War are: "The Battle of Prairie Grove, Ark." "Splendid March of Gen. Herron's Army" "7,000 Unionists Against 26,000 Rebels" "A Long and Obstinate Contest" "Grand Effort to Crush Our Little Army" "Glorious Union Triumph" "The Victory At Kinston" "Gen. Foster's Official Report" "They Run In Perfect Panic" and more.
There is also follow-up to the Battle of Fredericksburg with: "Extravagant Rebel Estimates of Our Loss" "A Rebel General Counts 3,500 Dead" "Full Official Report of Our Losses "Our Aggregate Loss 12,311" "Raid Upon Occoquan by the Rebels".
The Battle of Fredericksburg would be a major defeat for the Union forces and involved 200,000 combatants, the largest number of any Civil War battle. Losses for the Union forces were over 12,000.
